Submit PC Chamber 2018 Award Nominations
 
Port Clinton, OH - The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for their Annual 2018 Awards. To download a nomination form, please visit www.portclintonchamber.com and click on the annual dinner events tab.  Nominees will be reviewed by the Award Selection Committee.  The recipients of the awards will be announced at the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards Program in April.  Please forward your nominees to the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce by Friday, February 9.
 
LIGHTHOUSE AWARD
Recognizes a business that has made an outstanding contribution in their field.
 
OUTSTANDING CITIZEN
Recognizes an individual who through their hard work and achievements have contributed to the citizens and/or the well-being of the business community of Ottawa County. 
 
NEW BUSINESS
This award recognizes a business that opened in 2017.
 
BEAUTIFICATION AWARD
This award recognizes a business that has significantly contributed to the aesthetic enhancement of the Greater Port Clinton community either at their place of business or at another area in the city/county (i.e. a park or public area)
 
BUSINESS MEMBER OF THE YEAR
The most prestigious award given that recognizes the overall contribution of the business/individual to the Chamber, the community, and the business environment of the Port Clinton Area including Ottawa County.

Port Clinton Women’s Club Wins Gift of Lights
 
Port Clinton, OH: Main Street Port Clinton is pleased to announce that the Port Clinton Women’s Club is the 2017 winner of the Gift of Lights.  Local businesses and organizations competed to win the best-decorated Christmas tree at Adams Street Park in downtown historic Port Clinton.  All monies raised from the voting from the Gift of Lights will be donated to “Mary’s Coats for Kids” as selected by last year’s winner.
 
Thank you to the following businesses for decorating a tree: Ala Carte, Boy Scouts of America Troop #360,  City of Port Clinton, Civilian Marksmanship Program, Compassionate Friends, Croghan Colonial Bank,  Firelands Physician Group, Oliver H Perry Lodge #341, Port Clinton Cheerleaders, Port Clinton Women’s Club, Schill Grounds Management, Waypoint Marine Sales, Walleye Drop, Wreaths Across America.

​Port Clinton, Ohio – Main Street Port Clinton is pleased to announce that Downtown Improvement Grants are available for downtown businesses and building owners. The focus of the Downtown Improvement Grant is to provide financial support to downtown business owners and downtown property owners to improve their property, positively influence economic growth, and enhance aesthetic appeal. 
These grants are made possible because of the success of Main Street’s fundraisers, specifically the Walleye Festival. Since 2013, $80,000 has been awarded to downtown property owners and business owners.
Main Street Port Clinton is striving to promote, preserve, and improve downtown historic Port Clinton as a vibrant center for businesses, entertainment, and cultural activities for residents of the community and visitors to our area.  For more information about the Downtown Improvement Grant, please contact the Main Street Port Clinton office at 419-734-5503 or you can pick up grant applications at 110 Madison Street. The deadline for the application will be Friday, February 23, 2018

Grand Opening Celebrated for Russell Real Estate Services
 
A Ribbon Cutting ceremony celebrating the new office location of  Russell Real Estate Services at 2870 E Harbor Road, Suite C in Port Clinton was held on December 11th. Representatives from the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Port Clinton along with many friends congratulated them and wish them many years of success

Community Christmas Lighted Parade a Big Hit
 
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Annual Community Christmas on Saturday, December 2nd.  Many business hosted activities and we had 14 businesses competing for best tasting chili in our 3rd Annual Chili Tasting Contest. The crowd’s favorite was a Jamaican Jerk Chili prepared by The Junk followed by Sew Much More and Back In Thyme. 
 
Children and families were able to visit with Santa and Mrs Claus while enjoying cookies and cocoa at Our Guest Inn then lined the streets in downtown Port Clinton for the  annual Lighted Parade.  Floats lit up the night sky as they competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  The evening concluded with the City’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Adams Street Park.  
 
1st Place- Port Clinton Fire Department
2nd Place – Immaculate Conception School
3rd Place – Erie Shores K9 Academy
 
The 4th Annual Window Decorating contest has everyone looking their best for the Holiday Season… coming in first for the best decorated window was Dublin Commercial; second, Back In Thyme; third, Morgan Realty Group.  Prizes for this were generously donated by Lilly & Gerts, Northern Exposure Gallery and Slater’s Madison Street Pub.
